Under 23 National Team

Young, bold and dynamic, the Singapore Under-23 National Team is made up of a group of hardworking and dedicated individuals drawn from clubs in the Singapore Premier League.

The U23s are currently helmed by Nazri Nasir, former Lions captain who led Singapore to the 1998 AFF Championship title, and will compete in the biennial Southeast Asian (SEA) Games as Singapore’s U22 representatives. The team has three bronze medals from the 2007, 2009 and 2013 editions and will aim to do the nation proud again in future tournaments.

In 2019, the U22s – under the charge of national legend Fandi Ahmad – created history by winning the Merlion Cup title for the first time. The likes of Irfan Fandi, his younger brother Ikhsan and Hami Syahin have already represented Singapore at senior international level and their fellow compatriots will seek to emulate them in making the step up.
