Home of the Lions
The Lions represent Singapore at an international level and are always a force to be reckoned with at the regional level, where they have won four ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Championship crowns.
Singaporeans have fond memories of the majestic Kallang Roar at the old National Stadium, where the likes of Fandi Ahmad, V Sundram Moorthy, Malek Awab, Dollah Kassim, Nazri Nasir, Noh Alam Shah and more legends have thrilled the nation.
The team is currently helmed by Singapore legend Nazri Nasir, who took charge of the team on an interim basis during March’s FIFA international window. The Lions are gearing up for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup China 2023™ Qualifiers Final Round this June.
Captained by midfielder Hariss Harun, who reached a century of international caps in 2019, the Lions feature other established players like Safuwan Baharudin, Faris Ramli and Shahdan Sulaiman. They are complemented by upcoming stars like Irfan Fandi, younger brother Ikhsan Fandi and Hami Syahin. Yoshida is also unafraid to give deserving performers a chance to prove their worth and has given a number of debuts to those who have impressed at club level.
With an exciting style of play and a strong team spirit, the Lions are well-placed to take on future challenges as they seek to roar on the international stage.
