Kayak Orientation Programme

Get paddling in our 3-hour programmes for new water enthusiasts! Learn to control your craft, and enjoy a mini-tour of the Marina Reservoir.

Participants are to be of a reasonable level of fitness and must be able to swim. Please consult a medical professional if you suffer from any medical conditions. ​

Things to note


EQUIPMENT PROVIDED Personal Floatation Device (PFD), Double Sit-On-Top Kayak and Paddle
ATTIRE Sports attire, t-shirts and shorts are recommended along with flip flops or water shoes
GROUP SIZE 20 Participants
AGE 9 years and above
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE Participants are highly encouraged to bring along water for hydration and sun block cream.

Kayak 1 Star Personal Skill Award

The Kayak 1 Star P​ersonal Skill Award is an introductory course to the sport of Kayaking. It is the gateway for beginners to learn and enjoy the sport. Participants will be required to show water confidence through a short swim test with the aid of a Personal Floatation Device at the beginning of the course.

Kayak 2 Star Personal Skill Award

The Kayak 2 Star Personal Skill Award is a novice course to the sport of Kayaking, to help develop the range of basic strokes and maneuvers. Partic​ipants will be taught more skills and rescue techniques, and will be introduced to the spray cover. The pre-requisite for participants is that they must possess Kayak 1 Star personal skill award certification.

Dragon Boat Orientation Program

The Dragon Boat Orientation Program is a team building program, where participants will be taught basic paddling skills and also get to experience the adrenaline rush of a dragon boat race.

Register at the Water Sports Centre. Registrations are on a first come first served basis at the WSC counter.

​​ Things to Note Patrons must be at least 7 years of age and be able to fit in a Personal Floatation Device (PFD).

​Patrons under the 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult in the same boat. Please read our Conditions of Entry for full details.
